Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has denied reports that he was arrested by the police for allegedly masterminding the invasion and stealing of the mace from the senate chamber earlier today and also stealing the mace. Omo-Agege says he was only invited to state his own side of the story and was released afterwards.

On Wednesday, some suspected thugs invaded the National Assembly’s chamber and made away with the Senate’s Mace, disrupting the lawmakers’ plenary session.

According to multiple reports, the incident happened immediately after a suspended senator, Ovie Omo-Agege entered the Chamber.
According to Premium Times, the suspected thugs, about 10 of them came in with the Senator and forced their entrance into the Chamber.

A few seconds later, the thugs ran out of the Chamber with the Mace causing pandemonium in the Senate.
It was gathered that they left the National Assembly with the mace – which is the symbol of authority of the parliament – in a black SUV.

One of the security personnel at the entrance of the National Assembly said the thugs told him and other officers they were with the senator.
“We tired to stop them but they told us they were with him (Omo-Agege),” he said.
The senators are yet to reconvene as at the time of filing this report.

A 3D-printed euthanasia device that will assist users to kill themselves was displayed for the first time on Saturday, April 14, 2018, during a funeral fair in Amsterdam.

The device, which allows people kill themselves with just the click of a button, was invented by Philip Nitschke, popularly known as "Dr Death". 

The euthanasia device, named Sarco, first made the news last year after prototype designs were released by its two creators, Australian euthanasia activist Dr. Philip Nitschke and Dutch engineer Alexander Bannink.

Sarco speeds up the death process by hypoxia, i.e by reducing the amount of oxygen reaching the tissues. It is designed to be portable and will come with a built-in detachable coffin.

The inventors claim that a fully-functioning version will be built this year, after which the blueprints will be made open source and published online for anyone to access and download.

Fayose Blasts His excellency President Buhari For Walking On Red Carpet During His Visit Dapchi

Governor Of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has slammed his excellency Presdient Muhammadu Buhari for walking on a red carpet during his visit to Dapchi, Yobe State where over 110 students were recently kidnapped.

President Buhari on Wednesday arrived Yobe State for his official visit, alongside the Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima and the presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu.

However, during the visit to the school, where the school children were kidnapped, Buhari was seen walking on a red carpet.

In a tweet, the governor said, no President would walk on Red Carpet during a visit to a State where 110 school girls were abducted.

Fayose tweeted, ”In saner climes, no President will walk on Red Carpet during a visit to a State where 110 school girls were abducted by insurgents and their whereabouts is unknown.”
