Don Jazzy to open ‘massive’ Mavin Headquarters

Don Jazzy is apparently building a massive HQ for Mavin Records.
It’s not supposed to be public knowledge yet, according to those close to the label. But Mavin friend and Chocolate City rapper Ice Prince let the cat out of the bag last night with a congratulatory tweet: ‘Big congratz to a king @DONJAZZY and the whole Mavin fam on the new Mavin HQ! Masssive!!’
We’re told the property is in Lekki Lagos and development has been going on for some time now. No word yet from the label.
Jazzy, a respected producer and brand ambassador has signed at least two new acts in recent times, and insiders say he’s working hard to guarantee the future of his post-Mohits label.

Jaywon desperately seeks exit from Kennis Music Label

Iledare Oluwajuwonlo James aka Jaywon, a recording artiste signed to Kennis Music, has written to the label requesting for his contract to be terminated.

According to NET findings, the singer is bent on leaving the record label and he has offered to buy out the remainder of his contract.

In a press release by Kennis Music, the label advised all broadcasters to desist from playing any material from Jaywon pending the resolution of the contract buy-out request.

The statement reads in part: ‘Jaywon has written a letter via his lawyer requesting for his contract with Kennis Music to be terminated. Jaywon wrote, in the same letter, his readiness and willingness to pay off all costs therein accordingly. Meanwhile, Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria IBAN MEMBERS and all broadcasters on all platforms are hereby advised to Un-list the works (Either single performances or and collaborations) of Iledare Oluwajuwonlo James aka Jaywon from their respective rotational play lists until his (Jaywon) request to buy over his contract is fully completed, to avoid litigation

Chris Brown In Prison Uniform! Singer Jailed & Denied Bail

Popular American singer Chris Brown has been jailed after he was kicked out rehab twice for using abusive language. His probation violation hearing held yesterday morning and the judge in charge has denied him bail. The judge also denied the singer’s request for a new rehabilitation facility. He has been ordered to stay in jail till the 23rd of April meaning the singer will be in prison for over 5 weeks. Germany-based Ghanaian fashion designer, Theresa Onnen, recently claimed she is carrying Elikem’s unborn child. But ex-Big Brother Africa housemate, Elikem Kumordzie, has profusely denied claims made by Theresa.

Theresa Onnen said that she is two weeks pregnant for Elikem. “We fell in love the very first day I met him at the launch of my clothing line of which he was part of the models, we exchanged numbers and we started a relationship from there. Nigerian Soccer star, Jon Obi Mikel and Nollywood Actress, Genevieve Nnaji have been announced as the new ambassadors for malt drink, Amstel Malta.

Back in February, the pair was flown to South Africa to shoot a Television commercial for Amstel Malta, and pictures from the set were later released, which sparked speculations over what they might be up to.

The advert which is themed around the inspirational story of both stars was unveiled for the first time to the audience at the recently held 2014 African Magic Viewers choice awards.

Speaking on the endorsement, Genevieve said, ‘I’m delighted with Amstel Malta’s efforts in celebrating our own with the world. I am very excited about the opportunity this platform gives me to inspire the youths and will definitely do my best to support this noble cause.’

Don Jazzy Set To Unveil His New Recording Studio

 

Award winning music producer Don Jazzy, is set to unveil his new recording studio.

According to a report, the yet-to-be unveiled studio is a world class that was constructed by international sound engineers who have worked with acclaimed international producers.

It was also learnt that the studio which is situated in Lekki, Lagos, western Nigeria is the producer's source of income for talented artistes and upcoming producers who want to record songs and albums.

Don Jazzy recently signed on R&B singer, Korede Bello, to his Mavin Records label. Korede, like the other new Mavin acts before him, debuted with a single, African Princess, produced by Don jazzy.

Other artistes on the record label are the original Mavin crew, Tiwa Savage, D’Prince and Dr. Sid.
