University-Polytechnic Discrimination Will Soon Be Over – JAMB Registrar

  The Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Dibu Ojerinde, has promised Nigerian graduates that the controversial dichotomy existing between holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) and Bachelors Degree would soon come to an end.

The Board’s boss, made this disclosure known during an interview with Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) network on Thursday.

According to Ojerinde, the present administration has set up a committee to look into the matter and other issues in the education sector.

Speaking on the issue; “JAMB and Crises in University Admission”, he stated that the Federal Ministry of Education was looking into the matter and there is hope for the removal of the dichotomy.

“The nation needs to rethink and attract candidates for technical and vocational education. The problems are created by the system” Ojerinde said

Drunker Policeofficer Arrested By The Police In Lagos

Lagos State Police Command says it has arrested a policeman who was found drunk.

spokesperson, Patricia Amadin, said the policeman reported by the media to be drunk has been identified and arrested and would face disciplinary measures.

According to Amadi, “The attention of the Lagos State Police Commissioner, CP Fatai Owoseni has been drawn to a pictorial publication on the website of Sahara Reporters of 07.08.15 and the PUNCH Newspapers of 08.08.15, depicting a Policeman in uniform alleged to have been drunk.

“This is to inform the general public that the said Policeman has since been identified and arrested by the Command and the Commissioner of Police has ordered a full blown investigation into the case, in accordance with the Force disciplinary procedures to the officer

Osun judge, Oloyede is a serial liar, says Aregbesola

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun state has described Justice Folahanmi Oloyede as a serial liar who is not fit to be a judge to the call .

Governor while reacting for the first time in public to the petition written against him by the serving judge in the state said Oloyede accusation of financial impropriety is unfounded.

GOVERNOR regbesola had responded to the petition written by thejudge to the state House of Assembly but the State Assembly dismissed it for lacking merit.

Speaking at the weekend at a party organised by the state Assembly Speaker, Najeem Salaam to mark his 50th birthday, Aregbesola took a swipe at the judge saying she has lost her integrity in the judiciary.

The police on Thursday arraigned a part-time lecturer, Afeez Baruwa, for allegedly raping an 18-year-old admission seeker. An accusation Baruwa said was false, he said the act was consensual.

 

The 42-year-old lecturer was arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate’s Court in Lagos on Thursday.

The 18 year old victim and her father were in the court premises with agony written on their faces.

The lecturer’s wife and other relatives were also observed in the court.

Baruwa was arraigned by the police on one count of rape.
