Yaw To Feed The Needy Today, October 1st in Wazobia FM OAP,

Steve Onu popularly known as  Yaw is teaming Wazobia FM OAP,  with Hawtefyre to feed people in need today, October 1st, which marks Nigeria Independence Day.

The charity event tagged #IndependenceDayFoodDrive, will take place at The Destitute Home, 28, Okobaba Street, Ebute Meta, Lagos between 10am to 1pm.

Yaw is also seeking member of the public to offer donation towards this movement. Clothes, Shoe, Toiletries, Non Alcoholic Drinks etc. are among the things being requested.

Commenting on this event, Yaw said

“We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we give. I expect to see everyone there today”.

Government Truck Falls Off Third Mainland Bridge

there is this massive traffic all the way from Apongbon inwards Victoria Island through Outer Marina caused by a government taskforce truck that fell off the tip of the third mainland bridge unto another government Hilux pickup bus.

Luckily, everyone escaped death. The driver of the truck sustained some injury. Some other private cars were also affected in the accident

PDP Senators Kick As Buhari Fails To Submit List Of Ministers Today

President Muhammed Buhari's failed to meet up with his earlier promise of submitting list of nominees to the Senate before the end of September.

The president had assured that the list containing the nominees into ministerial offices would be submitted to the Red Chamber latest by September 30,for onward screening and possible confirmation.

But the Senate President, Bukola Saraki,who announces correspondences from the president at the beginning of plenary,before the consideration of any other items in the day’s business, could not announce any letter from the President during Tuesday’s session, indicating that there was no such list at his disposal.

The development prompted the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP senators, through the Minority Leader, Godswill Akpabio, to seek clarification. Akpabio, PDP, Akwa Ibom North West, raised a point of order, under matter of urgent importance, to find out why the Senate President had not announced the president’s letter containing ministerial nominees.

Since 2010, Google has been creating illustrative artwork that feature the colours, cultures, flags or fabrics of Nigeria.

Last year, to mark the Nigeria’s 54th Independence Anniversary Day celebration, Google had a .GIF doodle that features the three most popular means of transport for daily commuters in Lagos, the country’s commercial capital — the motorcycle, popularly referred to as okada, the mini-bus, popularly known as danfo, and the tricycle, widely known as keke marwa.

The passengers in these vehicles also appear flag to represent the three major tribes — Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba — respectively, dressed in their native attires and carrying the Nigerian flag, grining and waving as they ride on.

YBNL Nation Grabs 11 Nominations For 2015 Headies Awards

official release of the nominees’ list for the 2015 edition of the Hip-Hop World Awards or ‘The Headies’ as it is popularly called, Nigeria’s leading record label; YBNL Nation emerged tops on the list with a cumulative eleven nominations going to acts under the label.

Label boss Olamide led the pack with seven nominations, Lil’ Kesh got two, Adekunle Gold was nominated once while their producer; Young John also got one nomination.

The nominations for the MOBO Awards 2015 have been announced, with Nigeria’s Davido, Yemi Alade,  Wizkid and Patoranking slugging it out in the “Best African Act” category alongside AKA, Fuse ODG and more.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial list contains a number of familiar All Progressives Congress (APC) names such as Babatunde Fashola, former governor of Lagos state, and Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of Rivers state, The Cable can report.

Also nominated to be minister is Lai Mohammed, national publicity secretary of the ruling party, and Kayode Fayemi, who lost his Ekiti governorship re-election bid in 2014 to Ayodele Fayose of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

From the south-east are the likes of Chris Ngige, former governor of Anambra state and former senator of the federal republic; and Ogbonnaya Onu, first executive governor of Abia state and former national chairman of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), on whose ticket Buhari contested and lost the 2003 and 2007 presidential elections.
